Appraisers and Underwriters: Bridging the Gap | Durham | August 14 2019
August 14 from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm EDT$155
State Employees Credit Union (SECU) staff suggested the content for this class and will join instructor Mel Black to address certain topics and be part of our discussion. This is a unique class because of how it came to be, its intended audience, the topica, and the guest speakers from the SECU.
Topics include: Comparable selection, adjustments, misuse of bracketing, ethical appraising that avoids hitting the contract price if the data does not support that opinion, roles of the parties (the appraiser is the appraiser and not the underwriter,) avoiding advocacy, and much more. SECU staff will address their appraisal process and quality control check points.
This is the only time we have this unique class scheduled for the remainder of 2019. Space is limited.
BrightPath was asked to put together a class that addresses common areas of misunderstanding or miscommunication between the underwriters and appraisers.
While designed for appraisers as a 7-hour continuing education class, underwriters are also invited to attend and join in the discussion.
The goal is to present accurate, timely, and useful information to appraisers in an effort to increase appraisal knowledge and overall competency as well as to inform any underwriters of how appraisers do things.
This course has been approved by the NC Appraisal Board for 7 hours of continuing education credit.
