*Effective October 1, 2019, appraisal trainees will have the option of when to take the Residential Market Analysis & Highest & Best Use course. The class is still required to qualify as a Licensed Residential or Certified Residential Appraiser. Candidates for Certified General Appraiser do not need this course. The change is that Residential Market Analysis & Highest & Best Use will no longer be required to qualify for Registered Trainee status. Prior to October 1st, the class is required to qualify as a Registered Trainee. Students may continue to take the course as part of the trainee series package or may take the course as part of the upgrade classes.

We encourage students seeking to become a Licensed Residential or Certified Residential Appraiser to attend Residential Market Analysis & Highest & Best Use on October 26th and 27th to meet the NC Appraiser requirement. Supervisory appraisers are scheduled to speak to the class on October 26th about their appraisal practice, what they look for in a trainee, and answer general questions about the profession. Some will be collecting resumes from students and setting up interviews. In addition, students will have the opportunity to complete a demonstration appraisal in class.

Except for the Supervisory Appraiser/Trainee Appraiser Course, each course listed above requires a proctored exam to be administered at the end of the class. The exams will be administered in-class, and there is no state exam. Fees listed above include all books and handouts, except for The Appraisal Foundation’s Student eManual for the 15-Hour USPAP Course.  See below for further details:

The 15-Hour National USPAP Course requires two books: (1) 15-Hour National USPAP Course Book (“Book”) and (2) 15-Hour National USPAP Course Student Manual (“Manual”). BrightPath Education provides the Book to students as part of the course fee.  Students must purchase their individual electronic copy of the Manual directly from The Appraisal Foundation. Once the new version of the Manual is available on The Appraisal Foundation’s website, we will provide a link to purchase the manual.

You may pay for the classes as you go by registering for the full series and then paying the amount for each class on or before the class start date.
