Please note: Basic Appraisal Principles shall be a prerequisite to taking Basic Appraisal Procedures, and Basic Appraisal Procedures shall be a prerequisite to taking Residential Market Analysis and Highest and Best Use. The 15-Hour National USPAP Course may be taken any time after the successful completion of Basic Appraisal Procedures.

Class will start promptly at 9:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM each day.

Except for the Supervisory Appraiser/Trainee Appraiser Course, each course listed above requires a proctored exam to be administered at the end of the class. The exams will be administered in-class, and there is no state exam. Fees listed above include all books and handouts, except for The Appraisal Foundation’s Student eManual for the 15-Hour USPAP Course.  See below for further details:

Two books are required for the 15-Hour National USPAP Course: the 15-Hour National USPAP Course Book and the 15-Hour National USPAP Course Student Manual. The 15-Hour National USPAP Course Book is provided to students and included in the course fee.  However, The Appraisal Foundation ceased printing a hard copy version of the 15-Hour National USPAP Student Manual. As a result, students now will need to purchase their own electronic copy of the 15-Hour National USPAP Student Manual directly from The Appraisal Foundation.You may click here to find the student eManual available for purchase on The Appraisal Foundation’s website.

Currently, applicants holding a Bachelor’s degree are eligible to become a Certified Residential Appraiser or Certified General Appraiser.  A high school diploma is required to become a Registered Trainee. For more information on the minimum qualifications to become an appraiser, visit our blog post that explains a change in educational requirements to become an appraiser. Note: The North Carolina Appraisal Board has not met since the AQB’s February 1, 2018 vote. At this point, any comment on what the North Carolina Appraisal Board will do and when can only be speculation.
